AGV Systems module released
Talumis is proud to announce that FlexSim Software Products has now officially released the Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV) module. The module is designed to aid in the simulation and modeling of AGV systems, and is the first dedicated material handling product the company has developed.
The AGV module is the second module released for FlexSim, and is available free of charge to all currently licensed users.
Model a real-world AGV system of any scope
This add-on works with FlexSim’s powerful discrete-event simulation platform to model a real-world AGV system of any scope or complexity level. The module employs a unique set of objects to quickly set up a fully-customizable AGV network, and utilizes familiar concepts and terminology such as Look For Work and Control Points to create a low learning curve for those new to simulation.
William Strong, a FlexSim consultant with more than 8 years of experience developing simulation models for AGV systems, has extensively used a pre-release version of the module in a consulting project for a leading material handling company.
“The module has been essential in developing the AGV system the client requested,” Strong said. “Material handling simulation requires responsive design with room for customization, and the AGV module has both.”
The module is only available in FlexSim version 7.1 or later, and can be downloaded and installed directly from the FlexSim software.
