AGV transport analysis in warehouses

AGV transport analysis in warehouses

The transports from the warehouse in this simulation case need to be automized with new AGVs. One of the main questions is how many AGVs will be needed such that the filling lines are not blocked.

The AGVs need to pick up the pallet at the filling line and bring the product to the correct hall in the warehouse. Different strategies are tested to select the best hall in the warehouse where to bring the pallet.

If at some point in time all filling lines are producing a batch of products that need to be stored in a hall far away from the filling line more AGVs are needed.

Carefully choosing the hall for the next batch reduces the number of AGVs needed to prevent the filling lines from being blocked.
